The day after arriving at the Academy, the entrance ceremony.

The Labyrinth Academy, you aquire a job, study the job, master the job, and continue to walk down whatever path the job puts you on for the rest of your life.

But, it’s not like you can just walk in and choose a job.

The academy has a large number of jobs you can choose from but, the conditions for each job must be met.

That is to say, if the job you wanted to choose doesn’t appear, then studying that job is a waste of time.

The job selection will determine what you do for the rest of your life.

In other words, everyone is betting their lives at the selection.

If you detour from the path, your rivals would soon overtake you.

And while you can technically change jobs, your level would be reset and you’d have to start over completely.

A students best bet is to choose a job and continue straight down the path the job sets.

The first thing that new students do upon entering the Academy is prepare for the job selection.

Basically there is a one month period where there are no classes but each students may take electives that fit the job they want.

Basically it’s a training period for new students to meet the requirements of various jobs.

All of this was explained at the entrance ceremony, by an old man with a long white beard.

Although he possessed a very sturdy looking body, he could almost be mistaken for Santa Claus.

This new holiday attraction was the academy’s director.

In the game I ignored the speech looking around instead.

But, for some reason even though I already knew what was being explained I paid close attention this time.

It might be strange but, this time around I nearly found the entrance ceremony to be fun.

Once the ceremony finished I wondered off to meet up with Hannah.

“Zephyrus, have you already decided on what major you’re going to choose ”

She appeared anxious.

“Yeah, the Dungeon assault major, combat division.

I’ve already decided on what job I want as well.”

“I-I see, yeah.”

“What about you Where to you plan to go”

” I want to go into the Dungeon production major, alchemy devision…..

but, if that doesn’t work out then maybe I’ll try for the magical remedy division.”

Oh, I think I figured out why Hannah seems anxious.

“Hmm, our majors our in different buildings it seems.

And with the boy and girl dorms being in separate buildings as well, it won’t be easy for us to meet up.”

“…..yeah.”

This Academy is big.

Like…really, really big….so~ big.

According to the law those who turn 16 must attend an academy for a job.

But out of numerous academies spread out in various places this academy is the largest, by far.

It’s incredibly famous and is known as the best school in the country, producing a number of graduates every year.

As many students around the country wanted to attend, this academy continued to grow larger.

Eventually growing to the point of being able to support roughly twenty thousand students at any given time.

Because of this, even though everyone is attending the same school, it’s often difficult for those in different majors to meet.

“Well, if you want to meet up, then we can just meet up.

Or better yet why don’t we form a party”

“Huh”

Hannah looked as if my proposal had just sailed right over her head.

“Well if you’re going into the alchemy division, it stands to reason that you’re aiming to be an alchemist right”

“Y-yeah.”

“Well as an alchemist you should be able to cook up some awesome brews for a party, right No, what I’m saying is, we should form a party and go dungeon diving together.

It’s not rocket science.”

“No! Wha- I’m choosing a production job you know!”

“What Isn’t it common sense you’d need to dive into a dungeon to get materials and stuff”

“No! Production jobs have very low combat ability.

Dungeons are dangerous places, anyone with a production job has no business going inside!”

“Well, I guess later on it wouldn’t be possible.

It’s quite possible you could end up eating a ranged attack.”

“Right!”

“But the initial bits would be fine.”

“Heh”

After all, at first it’s easy enough to solo so, I should be able to cover for someone with a production job.

""

Also, it costs money to buy materials so as an it’s easier on your wallet if you dive into the dungeon at first to collect materials.

The only alchemists who have the luxury of saying that the won’t go into a dungeon because it’s scary are the rich ones.

Being from a village, Hannah has to come up with away to earn her own materials.

“Oh well, guess we’re in a party now.

“Oh well Oh well! What do you mean oh well! ”

“Oh, do you hate the idea of forming a party with me”

“Well….no….asking it that way is cheating! ”

“Hahahaha, well then since you’re not objecting, I look forward to working with you.”

“……I feel like I just got tricked….looking forward to working with you….”

It was kind of forceful but I did it, I got my alchemist.
